About Dr. Mike Lopez
Engineer. Educator. Builder of humans.
For more than twenty years, Dr. Mike Lopez has led technical teams, worked on complex systems, and taught people how to act under uncertainty. His career bridges engineering and human performance, where the ability to act with clarity matters as much as technical skill.
He started as a nuclear engineer and now specializes in cybersecurity. He’s led technical teams under pressure, managed complex projects across agencies, and mentored professionals at every level, from interns to distinguished engineers.
Dr. Lopez doesn’t teach from slides. He teaches through experience. His courses throw you into real challenges with limited information, time pressure, and competing priorities designed to help you discover how to think and lead through it. It’s learning that sticks because it’s lived.
When he’s not teaching, Dr. Lopez writes, builds hardware projects, and develops hands-on learning tools that make complex ideas tangible.
